What's all the hubbub, Bub? What Does Cataclysm Really have to offer?

World of WarCraft players have been eagerly awaiting this expansion - and for good reason. As if a cataclysmic event that carves a molten scar through the kingdoms of Azeroth weren't trouble enough, in WoW: Cataclysm, an ancient evil awakes from its slumber at the bottom in Deepholm, the domain of earth in the Elemental Plane. Deathwing the Destroyer has big plans for the world, and, judging by his name, we assume that involves death and destruction. And that doesn't bode well for the Horde or the Alliance. Unlikely heroes will rise in this struggle for power, featuring two new races, higher level caps, flying mounts and more. This WoW expansion requires full versions of World of WarCraft the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King to play.
Two New Playable Races: Adventure as one of two new races--the cursed worgen with the Alliance or the resourceful goblins with the Horde.
Level Cap Increased to 85: Earn new abilities, tap into new talents, and progress through the path system, a new way for players to improve characters.
Classic Zones Remade: Familiar zones across the original continents of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms have been altered forever and updated with new content, from the devastated Badlands to the broken Barrens, which has been sundered in two.
New High-Level Zones: Explore newly opened parts of the world, including Uldum, Grim Batol, and the great Sunken City of Vashj'ir beneath the sea.
More Raid Content than Ever Before: Enjoy more high-level raid content than previous expansions, with optional more challenging versions of all encounters.
New Race and Class Combinations: Explore Azeroth as a gnome priest, blood elf warrior, or one of the other never-before-available race and class combinations.
Guild Advancement: Progress as a guild to earn guild levels and guild achievements.
New PvP Zone & Rated Battlegrounds: Take on PvP objectives and daily quests on Tol Barad Island, a new Wintergrasp-like zone, and wage war in all-new rated Battlegrounds.
Archaeology: Master a new secondary profession to unearth valuable artifacts and earn unique rewards.
Flying Mounts in Azeroth: Explore Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms like never before.
And much, much more...

Robby Flay-Head Chef In Stormwind: Feeling Crabby?

Personally, when I was asked to catch crabs in Stormwind, I nearly ran the other way, but Robby Flay seems so nice.  If you would like to do this quest, you might try using some tracker snacks to help you catch the little critters.

Do you Like The New Mini-Games?

Have you encountered any of the in-game mini-games, and if so, were you able to go back and play them again after the quest or quest-chain was finished? Let us know what you think!

Love The Format of The In-Game Date For Cataclysm Release:

Yeppers, Dec. 7, 2010...(one day after my birthday)! I can't wait to roll my goblin/worgen and learn archeology! In real life I'm an avid treasure hunter.
On Dec. 6th, besides celebrating my birthday, Blizzard will be hosting some swell events to launch Cataclysm:

From Blizzard's website: "Come celebrate the dawn of a new age of Azeroth! On the evening before World of Warcraft: Cataclysm's launch, select retail stores in the US, Canada, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, and the region of Taiwan will be holding special events to celebrate the expansion's release. Join your fellow World of Warcraft players for a night of camaraderie and exciting events, including contests, prizes, costumes, dance, music, and more before the stores open their doors to welcome gamers who want to be among the first to purchase and play the new expansion."

So Many Bugs, So Little Time...I still like the new Azeroth.

As with any big patch, we have found many glitches, which I'm sure Blizzard will straighten out soon.  For example, the Battle For Darrowshire in Eastern Plaguelands can only be done once per server, as it doesn't reset.  Hope you were the lucky first person to be able to do that quest on your server. There was a bit of trouble with quest titles and descriptions being mixed up while running around in southern Desolace, and was unable to finish a simple quest in Mauradon. The good news is that one can finish some quests out in the field rather than having to go back to the quest giver.  I appreciate the savings in time and running around on the lower-level toons especially. Just as a point of interest; you may now climb to the top of the mountain which contains Ironforge.  Nothing special to do or see...just BE there.
There is a quest chain which starts in Gol'Bolar Quarry in Dun Morogh which has a bug near the end.  Do the couple of lowbie quests in that area and one of them is a chain quest that leads you to arrest Ambassador Slaghammer who is supposed to be located in Ironforge at the High Seat.  He can actually be found at a place just left of the High Seat a bit.  You'll see the dorway flanked by 2 Dark Iron Guards.  Go ahead and arrest him!  Go!  I said GIT!
